TYPICAL APPLICATIONS for permanent magnet Rare Earth Rolls
NobleMEIR U-RER series: Universal replacement Rare Earth Magnetic Rolls and Idler Rolls
For the purification of dry fine or course material containing ferromagnetic and paramagnetic particles. The robust NobleMEIR U-RER series incorporates Neodymium Iron Boron permanent magnets, which are the most powerful permanent magnets available. With a high temperature rating of 120°C. Available in different lengths (up to 60”), diameters of 4”and 6” with variable magnetic configurations (up to >16,000 gauss). The NobleMEIR U-RER series are built as a replacement roll for a ‘Universal’ fit into all other common brands of Industrial Rare Earth Rolls. Our main shaft and bearing points allow for a quick and easy roll exchange, roll & bearing exchange, or entire roll cassette exchange (fits into: most all other common Industry RER Brands and Models). All magnet rolls are quality tested for proper gauss and product control.
Material samples can be sent to our lab to confirm what magnet configuration is needed if unknown.
Sizes: Vary in length, diameter, and magnetic configurations. Belts: Available for a correct fit, vary in thickness and material.
The NobleMEIR U-RER-Idler series. Universal replacement Idler Rolls are also available. These universal idlers can be adjusted to fit most all common brand RER machines. Sizes: Vary in length and diameter, built to match needs
PS-RER-10X - NobleMEIR’s new High Intensity Rare Earth Roll Separator
Now available (May 1, 2023): Updated safety, controls, and design for efficient installation, operations, and maintenance.
With the ever-increasing demand for high-purity feedstocks used in manufacturing, NobleMEIR offers its (dry) High Intensity Rare Earth Roll Magnetic Separators the NobleMEIR PS-RER-10X series. This series provides maximum efficiency in the separation of weak magnetic particles for product purification, and beneficiation applications.
There are two main considerations for magnet configurations - configurations according to maximum selectivity and those according to highest strength. Maximum selectivity configurations are used in concentration applications where more magnetic material is present, such as ilmenite. Highest strength configurations are used in cleaning applications, as with zircon or glass sands. The major applications include mineral sands, refractory raw materials, fillers, glass and ceramic raw materials, potash, salts, ultra-high purity materials, phosphates, abrasives (diamonds and garnets), graphite, iron ore beneficiation, plastics, and recycling.

Since the first commercial unit was commissioned in 1982 in South Africa, rare earth magnetic separators are commonplace in many industrial minerals operations. They typically process, amongst many others: mineral sands, glass sands, garnets, refractories, ultra-high purity materials - allowing mineral processors to have their cake and eat it too. NobleMEIR proudly supplies high quality and precision products related to magnetic separation used typically but not limited to Agriculture, Construction, Food and Beverage, and Mining Industries.
Apart from their processing efficiencies, because they are permanent magnets, rare earth separators require no power to generate a magnetic field. The only power consumption is in the roll or drum drive. Compared to electromagnets, rare earth magnets operate at a fraction of their cost. Other influencing factors are the high availability of rare earth magnetic separators and the relatively low maintenance costs (up to 40% lower than with electromagnets).
What else is important? Testing is crucial to ensure the optimum result for client needs. Testing allows product qualities to be assessed, tonnage rates determined, flowsheets generated and, ultimately, engineering and costing to be done on projects. For example, NobleMEIR’s mineral separation laboratory provides the full gamut of testing and flowsheet requirements for clients.
